Crime Has No Gender, but media debates do! Thus, you would rarely see any prime time debates on mainstream news channels discussing gruesome crimes by women in India.
In a recent case reported from Bengaluru in Karnataka, a young woman murdered her own mother, stuffed her body in suitcase and reached police station to confess her crime.
Case:
39-year-old Sonali Sen (accused) used to live with her husband and mother-in-law. However, after her father’s demise, Sonali’s mother Biva Paul (71), shifted to her daughter’s matrimonial home. Sonali was a physiotherapist by profession who had recently quit her job.
Sadly, instead of supporting each other, Paul she would frequently engage in quarrels with Sonali’s mother-in-law. After one such fight on Sunday, Paul said there would be no peace until she was alive and asked Sonali to kill her.
Planned Murder
On Monday, around 7:15 am, after her husband left for work, Sonali fed her mother around 30 tablets used to control blood pressure. By 11:30 am, Paul suffered a stroke and started screaming. Sonali then strangled her mother to death and bundled her body in the suitcase, as per her confession to the police, reported The Indian Express.
Confession
Sonali later took an autorickshaw and reached the Mico Layout police station in Bengaluru at around 1pm along with the suitcase containing dead body of her mother.
This is where Sonali confessed to her crime accepting that she had killed her mother as per her instruction the previous day.
