A recent OTT release showed us how women face domestic violence at home and the same film also promoted revenge violence against the abusive husband.
While women in India have numerous laws in their favour to stand up against such violence, men unfortunately can only file for divorce. In most cases, men are turned back from police stations mocking their trauma as ‘ghar ka maamla’.
In a recent case reported from Tamil Nadu, a woman poured hot water on her husband’s private part, as she suspected him of infidelity. However, the woman has been booked in this case.
