The moment we think we have seen it all in matrimonial disputes, we are in for some new drama!
In a shocking report from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, a woman has filed a police complaint against her daughter-in-law accusing her of sexual harassment, reported News24 online.
Case:
A woman has appealed to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to save her from her daughter-in-law who has been planning to divorce her husband after falling in love with her. According to the mother-in-law’s allegations, her daughter-in-law has also ‘sexually harassed’ her on several occasions.
Further, she informed police, that the daughter-in-law has fallen in love with her and is threatening to divorce her husband, by troubling the family and neighbours. The mother-in-law added:
My daughter-in-law said that from the moment she saw me, she had fallen for me. Since then, she wanted to be with me. Living with my son was just an excuse as she wanted to spend her life with me.
The complainant even suggested that her daughter-in-law would repeatedly threaten by committing indecent acts with her after making her unconscious and forcibly establishing physical relations with her. She would even show her media stories trying to make her believe how physical relations between two women were completely normal.
Not just this, the mother-in-law even stated the daughter-in-law wants divorce from her son and when she reached out to her daughter-in-laws’ parents asking them to end this marriage, they allegedly demanded Rs 20 lakh.
Police Statement
Speaking with media, the Assistant Superintendent of Police has instructed officials to investigate the matter.
Sunita Malik, who is in-charge of women’s cell, said that the complaint was received while she was on VIP duty. She has assured thorough investigation and action in the matter shortly.
Voice For Men India Take:
- Prima Facie, this case seems to be a rebound revenge by mother-in-law, amidst the matrimonial dispute between her son and daughter-in-law
- As we are aware, a daughter-in-law is fully empowered to file a criminal case under Section 498-A IPC against her husband and every single family member, a false charge by mother-in-law cannot be ruled out in this case
- The mother-in-law has also mentioned about the demand of Rs 20 lakh to end the marriage, which further indicates the likelihood of to and fro cases between the families
- However, if the allegations are true, the daughter-in-law must face the law under Section 377 IPC, without getting any benefit or sympathy of being a woman
- Crime Has No Gender and justice must be done to all, even where the perpetrator and victim, both are women
