Forcibly Kidnapped, Married Off
According to Ganesh, he was tricked and asked to visit Bhopal, where Sujata’s family forcibly gave him intoxicants and married him off to her.
The woman and her family also clicked several photographs while Ganesh was in an inebriated state.
Subsequently, the woman’s family even started blackmailing Ganesh to pay up Rs 40-50 lakh, else they would implicate him in a false case.
Background:
As per a report by Daily Pioneer, Ganesh said that Sujata used to study with him and wanted to marry him, but when he refused she sent a marriage proposal through her father which was rejected. In June 2022, Sujata asked Ganesh to come to Bhopal once and visit her parents. When he arrived here, he was married off to Sujata by Pakadwa Vivah (marriage by kidnapping).
On the other hand, Sujata claimed that while doing MBA from IIM Shillong, she fell in love with Ganesh, stayed in a live-in relationship for about 7-years.
According to Sujata, on July 14, 2021, they went in for a court marriage but her family refused to accept, and subsequently, they spoke to Ganesh’s father Shankar for proper marriage rituals. As per Sujata, the marriage was fixed for June 25, 2022 but before that, on March 26, 2022, Ganesh married another woman in Bengaluru.
