In a shocking incident reported from Bihar, a 22-year-old man was beaten to death and his genitals were chopped off by the family of the girl he was having an affair with.

Details:

Saurabh Kumar, a resident of Repura Rampurshah village of Kanti police station area, was in a relationship with a girl and her family murdered the young man, after he was found in the girl’s house in the neighbouring village of Sorbara. Kumar was working with a private firm in Odisha had come home to attend the marriage of his sister. On Friday night, he went to his girlfriend’s house, whom he was dating since past four years.

The girl’s relatives were so triggered with Kumar’s presence in her home, that they thrashed him mercilessly, causing him some serious injuries.

Later, when Kumar’s family learnt of this horrific incident, they attacked the house of the suspected accused, identified as Sushant Pandey, and also performed former’s funeral in front of it on Saturday.

Rajesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur (City) told ANI,

Prima facie shows that the boy was killed over an alleged love affair. He was beaten and his genitals were cut off. A postmortem is being done and further details about the injuries will be revealed after the report comes.

Rajesh Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered. He added,

While the investigation into the matter is on, the police have arrested Sushant Pandey alias Vijay Kumar in connection with the alleged killing of Saurabh Kumar.

Three people identified as Ashok Thakur, Ranjit Kumar, and Mukesh Kumar have also been arrested on the charges of attacking the house of the main accused. An official further confirmed to India Today,

There is an atmosphere of tension in the village after the incident, so as a precautionary measure, police are patrolling the area. The relatives of the deceased have been assured of speedy action.

Statement From Victim’s Father

Saurabh’s father Manish Kumar is an auto-rickshaw driver and a part-time farmer. Speaking to the media, he said,

The girl’s family was against the relationship on the ground that our financial status did not match. They used to threaten to kill my son. They had attacked him last year and had tore off his nails, following which we sent him to Odisha to work.

He had come to attend my daughter’s marriage on July 8 and had stayed back. He was our only son and we always used to tell him to stay away from love.
