Most of you would have come across a viral video that has been doing the rounds on social media.
The video – CCTV footage – that was circulated online widely, showed a Delhi Woman Cop thrashing her Father-in-Law in presence of her mother and another police personnel.
Faridabad Woman Booked For Murdering Father-in-Law To Grab His Property
Here’s What Happened!
According to media reports, Ankur Gupta had married Chanchal, a resident of Ballabhgarh, in 2020. Chanchal is currently posted as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in Defense Colony, Delhi.
However, only after four months of marriage, Chanchal picked up fights with Ankur and went to her maternal home. She allegedly wanted property of in-laws in her name and used to thrash the elderly couple.
In-laws Vijender Gupta (66) lives with his wife Veena (62) in Laxmi Nagar. On Sunday morning, Chanchal came to their house with her mother and started ramming on the door. The elderly couple called the police and informed them about the matter.
The old in-laws are already embroiled in a court case with Chanchal and the argument between them was about this ongoing case.
Police Action
Soon after the viral video, Delhi police took cognisance of the matter and lodged an FIR against the accused woman cop.
A case under section 323/427 of the IPC has been registered against Chanchal. Furthermore, DCP East Priyanka Kashyap has asked top officers to take departmental action against the woman cop.
VFMI Take:
- Would action have been taken instantly if the video did not go viral on social media?
- Will husbands and their families only get justice if other side atrocity trends online?
