In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a woman from Aliganj, Etah district, managed to fool an entire system for ten long years, by withdrawing a family pension of Rs 10,000 per month, thereby, pretending to be her dead father’s wife.
However, recently the woman was exposed by none other than her own husband who filed a complaint with the authorities.
Case:
Wajahat Ullah Khan, a retired revenue clerk, died on January 2, 2013. His wife Sabiya Begum was already dead before him.
Taking advantage of the situation, 36-year-old Mohsina Parvez (Wajahat Ullah Khan’s daughter) fabricated documents and represented herself as her dead father’s spouse. Mohsina was successful in procuring the necessary approvals to get the family pension. Over a period of one decade, she managed to siphon off Rs 12 lakh in total as pension amount.
