A young woman has been detained by Tamil Nadu police who staged her own false gang rape case to take revenge on her boyfriend. Such incidents only shatters the faith in humanity when women go to any extent mocking heinous crimes such as rape.
Case:
The alleged victim in this case is a 21-year-old woman, a native of Perambalur district, who works as a tele-caller with a private bank and stays in Saidapet. The woman claimed that she was kidnapped from Chengalpet railway station and allegedly gangraped at a secluded spot in Kancheepuram district on the night of February 4, 2022. Police arrested her 25-year-old boyfriend Salim the next day on February 5, 2022.
Subsequently, a detailed enquiry was launched in the matter where shockingly the police learnt that the statement and story given by the alleged victim was false. The investigation revealed that the woman cooked up a false gang rape case to take revenge on her boyfriend, who had refused to marry her.
Police Statement
According to the media statement by Tamil Nadu police, they received a call on the night of alleged incident, where the woman claimed to have been kidnapped in a black car by four people and was taken to a forest near Salavakkam, where she was gangraped. A police team traced her and took her to Salavakkam police station.
Kancheepuram SP M Sudhakar said there were contradictions in her theory. Speaking with TOI, he said,
She claimed that she came to Chengalpet railway station after a friend invited her. But when we verified the claim, it wasn’t true.
When we checked CCTVs at Chengalpet railway station, we found the woman riding pillion with a man on a bike.
