Jasleen Kaur’s molestation charges on Delhi boy Sarvjeet Singh were quashed by Tis Hazari court last week.
The alleged eve-teasing incident that took place in 2015, drew attention from all media houses with continuous and aggressive coverage by Arnab Goswami’s Times Now channel four years ago. But Times Now while covering the Jasleen Kaur episode failed to maintain neutrality prompting the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) to take action against the channel.
Times Now had also been fined Rs 50, 000 by the News Broadcasting Standards Authority for not maintaining neutrality while airing the interview with Sarvajeet Singh, the main accused in Jasleen Kaur eve-teasing case. The body also asked the channel to air an apology on March 22, 2016.
However, Times Now was not the only channel that ran such fabricated one-sided coverage. We enlist below a series of videos that will demonstrate how Sarvjeet’s image was virtually crushed, that led to loss of face, career and dignity in society.
Independent Journalist Deepika Bhardwaj was at the receiving end against hyperactive and ever hungry for TRP, Arnab Goswami, who then worked for Times Now. Watch some of his extreme comments not just against the alleged accused, but also Bhardwaj, who he forgot was a woman herself.
If #ArnabGoswami had his way, he would have hanged #SarvjeetSingh that day itself while sympathizing with #JasleenKaur. (2/n) pic.twitter.com/3TQKBh5YU1

And kudos to @DeepikaBhardwaj for having the audacity to ask to hear the both sides of the story when #ArnabGoswami, who was with @TimesNow at that time, was already passing the judgment on #SarvjeetSingh and #JasleenKaur case. (3/n) pic.twitter.com/eQocbtn446

When Deepika questioned Arnab: “If the man is honourably acquitted, will you do a show on that?”
Arnab Goswami had replied: “Absolutely”
@DeepikaBhardwaj: “If there is a case that comes to you where a man has been honorably acquitted, would you do a show on that?”#ArnabGoswami: “Absolutely…”@awryaditi: “Yaar Arnab, jo karega ab to khud ke show par, tu bata what are we talking about?!”#SarvjeetSingh (20/n) pic.twitter.com/6ImT25AFxI

Well, Arnab has chosen to turn blind and deaf now, to various social media users and portals asking him to apologise for running his agenda driven prime time shows on this case.
Now check out the language and tone of another Times Now reporter, Pooja Shali. Given an option she would have hung Sarvjeet on the spot while reporting.
I have high regards for @PoojaShali but she too failed #SarvjeetSingh in #JasleenKaur case when she was with @TimesNow. (4/n) pic.twitter.com/li5boglIJw

Let’s come to Rahul Kanwal, India Today, who forced Sarvjeet to say “Sorry” to Jasleen on National TV. So much for unbiased reporting!

Incidentally Rajdeep Sardesai from India Today came across as the only sane voice, analysing both aspects of the case. Thank you Rajdeep for maintaining reporting standards on this case.
I am not a fan of @sardesairajdeep or @karunanundy but thanks to them for speaking sanity during this whole insanity on #SarvjeetSingh and #JasleenKaur case. (18/n) pic.twitter.com/4LoaPRiU69

And this is how police files FIRs on men purely on the word of a woman. Also praise women for filing complaint without any investigation!
@DelhiPolice was quick enough to pass the judgment on #SarvjeetSingh (“Abhi ladka jo jisne ye harkat ki thi wo bhaaga hua hai”) and give Rs. 5K rewards to #JasleenKaur for her “bravery.” @ANI was also kind enough to depict her as a “victim.” (19/n) pic.twitter.com/E9Cv8EgIbG

All we can say is unless and until a boy or a man from your own family goes through this ordeal, each one of you will be happily mindlessly sharing one sided sob story posted by women on social media. Next time, think twice and question the other side before you press that “Share” button on your phone. #MenToo need to be respected and shown dignity.
