A former councillor in Kasba Talbehat at Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh ended life by hanging himself following economic crisis and disputes in the family. Before taking his life, the deceased left a suicide note in his pocket demanding strictest punishment for his wife, daughter and son-in-law.
Case:
The body of a 65-year-old former councillor, Ramdas Kori alias Bilbil Kabadi, a resident of Chaubeyana locality ward number 1, was found hanging on a tree near a drain located outside the town on Saturday afternoon.
As reported by Navbharat Times, Ramdas was living with his sister in Ramdas Kashiram housing colony despite having a luxurious residence. He was also forced to go through economic crisis, eventhough he had built a fortune for himself.
In the suicide note recovered from the deceased, he has demanded strictest punishment for his wife. Not just this, the man has also written how he wanted his daughter and her husband to be removed from his home.
Local people have only said good things about Ramdas. They quoted how he worked hard for the property worth crores he had built over the years. They also said that the man was always ready to help people in need. In 2012, he was elected as the Councillor of Nagar Panchayat.
The police has taken the body into their custody and sent it for postmortem.
In another story, a 42-year-old man ended his life in June this year by hanging self at his house at Dashmesh Nagar, Nayagaon in Mohali.
Though no suicide note was found on him, the deceased’s wife was booked by local police under IPC Section 306 (abetment of suicide), as the man’s mother had alleged harassment by woman on her son, which forced him to take this step.
Based on mother’s complaint, the wife had been held by the Nayagaon police station.
