In a very sad incident reported from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, a railway doctor allegedly upset with his wife, father-in-law (who is also a doctor) and sister-in-law, ended his life by injecting himself with poison. The deceased husband has left a four page suicide note where he wrote,
I begged and pleaded to you with folded hands, touched your feet, but you did not understand. You filed a false dowry and assault case against me. Now I can’t bear this pain. Because of you my retired mother could not live with me.
Case:
Dr Gaurav Kumar Gupta, a resident of Patel Nagar in the city of Gwalior worked with the Railway Hospital. On Monday night, Dr Gupta visited his old friend Dr Mahendra, who is the director of Pratap Nursing Home. He requested his friend if he could stay there for sometime as he was not feeling well. Dr Mahendra gave him a room at his nursing home and subsequently left for his home.
Unfortunately, when Dr Mahendra returned on Tuesday afternoon, he found Dr Gupta lying on the bed with a syringe and injection kept on the bed. When he checked, Dr Gupta was not alive. The matter was immediately reported to the police who brought in forensic expert Akhilesh Bhargava to investigate the matter.
Suicide Note Recovered
Police recovered a four page suicide note from the deceased. In the note written on the hospital slip, Dr Gupta mentioned about harassment by wife Shaili, father-in-law Dr ML Gupta and sister-in-law Neha.
The deceased husband also wrote that his wife and in-laws had ruined his life by implicating him in a false dowry case. Elaborating further in the note, the deceased husband had written that he was pained a lot and broken from inside.
He also mentioned how he was the one who took care of his sister-in-law Neha and her husband when they contracted COVID in April this year. He said he was the one who had taken his co-brother in his car and got him admitted to Apollo Hospital in Noida. He also mentioned that while his co-brother was at the hospital, he kept his sister-in-law and her kids with him at his place, spent money, but in return they all conspired against him.
Dr Gupta also mentioned about some video footage in his mobile phone. He ended the note stating that because of his wife and in-laws, his retired mother could not be with him.
According to police, the matter is currently under investigation.
