A young married man from Noida, NCR, has ended his life alleging constant alimony demand by his wife and in-laws. The deceased also left a suicide video where he narrated his ordeal and every emotion he went through in less than two years of marriage.
Based on the visual confession as evidence, the brother of the deceased has filed a case against the wife, her parents and uncle. The police is investigating the matter.
Case:
The deceased has been identified as Arun, who got married in February 2019. He has blamed his in-laws for driving him to end his life within 2-years of marriage. In the last video he left, he shared that he did not wish to live such a life anymore. He quoted,
I don’t want to live. Since the day I have been married to that woman on February 8, 2019, I have been struggling and troubled. Even before our wedding took place, neither I nor my parents ever demanded dowry. We didn’t even ask for a single penny. My in-laws are the ones who had given us whatever they wanted, and we had never forced them to do so.
Arun also spoke about something that he learnt on the first night of the marriage. He said,
On the first night of our marriage, my wife told me that she did not want to marry me and her parents forcefully got her married. That came as a shock to me.
She then did terrible things to me in front of her family and relatives. On one occasion she even assaulted me physically. Even if I wanted to speak up, my father-in-law asked me not to share any of the incidents with my parents. I used to think that maybe he was right in asking me to not involve anyone else.

The deceased husband also spoke about his wife’s daily schedule. He shared,
She would go out every day at 9 in the morning, and I didn’t have any idea where she went or whom she met.
Husband also said that he had been severely affected during the lockdown period. He quoted,
This lockdown period has been the worst for me. I have been troubled a lot, so much that now I don’t even have any will to live. I just want to end my life.
Arun also mentioned that his wife would often leave the house for some days, however, the last time she went, she did not return. Despite his efforts to bring her home, the woman did not listen to him. He said,
I questioned her why did she leave the house. She wasn’t ready to tell me anything. Later, her mother called me and my parents and asked us to meet with them. Nobody was telling us anything. My wife just told me that she had written a letter and kept it at home. I pleaded to her to come back, but she did not. She did’t even have a mobile phone, and perhaps she borrowed one from the security guard of Noida’s metro station to call me then.
I told her father to go and stop her, by the time I could reach the station from my office. I also gave him the mobile number from where she called me and urged her family to go and get her. I somehow managed to handle her parents, informing them that she perhaps left the house due to our fight.

Constant Demand Of Alimony
The in-laws and wife subsequently started demanding huge amount of money as alimony before divorce. Arun was since then under immense pressure.
As reported by ABP News, the woman’s family was demanding a sum of Rs 60 lakh for the divorce. The wife did not want to go to his house neither she wanted to go and live with her parents because they got her married forcibly.
Arun’s Family Is Demanding Justice
The deceased’s brother is demanding justice and said that Arun’s in-laws would always threaten his family on mobile calls and by other means. He said,
We still feel threatened for our life. All we want is justice for my brother.
The victims’s life had allegedly been turned into hell since the day he got married.
