The below cases are yet again a lesson for social media to hold on with their outrage, until police investigation is complete in any matter. Two gang rape complaints, including rape of a woman at Gandhi Hospital and other in Santosh Nagar in Hyderabad have turned out to be false.
Both complaints were registered last week, and after investigating the matters, police told media that the same were ‘false‘.
Case 1:
In Chilkalguda, a woman had alleged that she was gangraped at Gandhi Hospital when she had gone there to attend to a relative. The police said,
There was no gangrape and all the suspects were examined.
A senior Hyderabad police officer on the condition of anonymity said that the police verified 500 CCTV footages and examined 200 witnesses.
The officer informed The Hindu that “Alcohol withdrawal syndrome is said to be the reason for the false complaint.”
The officer associated with the investigation also said that in order to make her family believe where she was for over four days of her ‘missing’, the woman from Mahabubnagar weaved the story of having been confined and gang-raped by security guards at the hospital, where her brother-in-law was undergoing treatment.
Further, the complainant’s sister, who is the wife of the patient and had been ‘missing’ for the last four days, was traced to Narayanaguda on Thursday. Even she was victim of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
‘Consensual Act’
The officer said that on August 11 and August 14, the woman had consensual intercourse with one of the security guards, Kishore, and later on Monday she along with her family members approached Chilkalguda police alleging that the guards gave sedatives and repeatedly sexually assaulted her for over 4 days by confining her in a room in the hospital. The officer, as quoted by The Hindu, said,
After verifying the video footages, questioning the alleged suspects, staff at Gandhi, recording the statement and medical examination of the woman, we came to a conclusion that it is a false case.
Case 2:
On the rape case that was registered at Santosh Nagar police station on Wednesday night, in which a woman had alleged that she was raped by an auto driver and his accomplice, police said that there was no rape as claimed by the victim.
Police arrived at the conclusion after analysing the call details, tower location and CCTV footages and speaking to eye witnesses. The officer said,
The woman approached police and lodged a case stating that she was raped by her boyfriend, in order to take revenge on him.
