Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai residence Antilia lit up once again on Sunday, and this time it was a grand party hosted by the Ambanis to celebrate the pre-wedding bash for Nayantara Kothari, who is Mukesh Ambani’s sister Nina Kothari’s daughter. The entire Ambani household was present, including the who’s who of the Mumbai elite circuit.
While Radhika Merchant, Anant Ambani’s ‘friend’ looked ravishing in Anamika Khanna’s red creation, Anant on the other hand was once again at the centre of Male Gender Issues; the junior Ambani was bashed online by trolls for having regained his lost weight!
If we recall, a few years ago, the 24-year-old Anant, surprised everyone when he went from fat to fit by losing a whopping 108 kgs in less than 18 months. He was also praised last year when he attended his sister Isha and brother Akash’s weddings in December 2018 and March 2019 respectively. However, Anant’s recent picture that surfaced at the Ambani bash on Sunday. A popular paparazzi handle on instagram posted Anant’s entry into Antilia, captioning it as

Noticeably, the youngest Ambani scion has regained the lost weight that he managed to shed off a few years ago. And the trolls just pounced on him with the choicest of comments! Here are some of the comments on Anant, most of them now stand deleted:
@mariyam_hussain.95:
fir mota ho gaya bhai?
@vashistha_schn
He has become mota bhai again ?
Other comments that were posted but now deleted read:
His girlfriend is so cute and look at him…
Why doesn’t he get an operation done?…
He really needs to get his act right!…
Dude, better buck up before your marriage night…
And then we also had some balanced minds asking the trolls to respect his personal space and not body shame him:
@valoras_safarnama
For people commenting on his weight….. You never know what he is been going through. It’s a medical condition. And loads of money or self will power, does not help in such conditions. Just count yourself blessed that you are not in his shoes. There are people who suffer, unnecessarily for absolutely no fault of theirs. Precautions can be taken, but it not always can be prevented. And who are you to judge or body shame anyone?
@rishi_b_theofficial
Guys, he has an obesity illness, which is very difficult to operate. Last fine he lost weight, but again gained weight due to that illness. If he does operaTion it will be risky for his life. Please don’t comment anything. ?
@that_troll_slayer_girl
Guys, you don’t know what he’s going through. Imagine having so much money yet not being able to get in shape. It’s frustrating. It’s a medical condition. Stop being inhuman.
@voiceswriter
Leave him TF alone!!! Show your own pics before you start hating. Trolls!
@architsinghkohli
Relax guys. Yes, all of us are smart enough to notice that he has put on alot of fat. But instead of laughing n passing rude comments, can we take a step back and just imagine what kind of situations and conditions he might have been in offlate, for him to become like this. Don’t u feel that he also wants to look good, he also wants to live a normal life like all of us. So please stop judging, no one is perfect in this world ! Goodnight

I’ve seen this with myself too. I had a massive transformation done from 80kgs to 58 kgs of a drop. I was living my best life possible, with compliments all over the place. But in 2 years of span, my thyroid went haywire again, and things went wrong, I put on 15kgs back again. And the response from people was rather very hateful “omg how did you do huge” “hit the gym again” and a lot of more body shaming in general. A lot of people need to understand that your body isn’t going to be the same through out your life. It’s going to change and it’s going to be hard too. Losing and gaining weight is a part of life’s cycle. It’s not always possible to maintain a fit life, sometimes we all take a step back. So yes, I totally understand how one feels like to have put on a a lot of weight especially when one is tackling diseases!
Issue is not with comments coming from nameless handles, but the hypocrisy that not a single portal or Feminists have been rebutting the body shaming of a man. We wonder if the reactions from our ‘Pinky’ websites would have been the same if it was Isha, his sister, instead of him.
But then we expect a bit too much for #GenderEquality!
