30-Year-Old Jaipur Man Ends Life After Wife Elopes With Ex-Husband Within Two Months Of Marriage

A young man from Jaipur, Rajasthan died by suicide after his wife eloped with another man within two months of their marriage. The husband accused his wife of cheating him and thus he ended his life leaving a suicide note.

Case:

30-year-old Sitaram Gurjar, a resident of Nainwan Bundi, got married to 28-year-old Sona Gurjar two months ago. The couple had a love marriage. Sitaram worked as a supervisor at a factory located in Sitapura.

On May 26, while Sitaram was at work, Sona left her matrimonial home with jewelry, cash and 2 mobiles kept in the house and eloped with her former husband Durgalal Gurjar who lived in Bundi.

Sitaram was disturbed by this betrayal and on Saturday afternoon, he ended life by jumping in front of a train on the Sanganer railway line.

A suicide note, along with mobile number of his relative, was recovered from victim’s pocket which read:

I am ending life because my wife cheated on me. My family is not at fault. Please do not harass my family after I am gone. I trusted my wife but she betrayed my trust, thus I am leaving this world.

I have Rs 1.30 lakh in my bank account and Rs 1 lakh in PF in my company which my family members can withdraw after my death. I had borrowed Rs 9,500 from my uncle’s son Devkishan. Please return his money from this amount. You can call Devkishan and inform him about my death. 

Family Files Complaint

The deceased’s brother Banshilal has filed a case of abetment to suicide against Sitaram’s wife Sona. According to him, his brother was very embarrassed and felt ashamed after his wife eloped with another man.

SI Guman Singh is investigating the matter, while the accused wife has not been nabbed yet.
