A 25-year-old man from Shujalpur, Madhya Pradesh, died by suicide after consuming a poisonous chemical outside the building of his ex-wife, with whom he had been separated since four-years.
Case:
Dinesh Jatav used to work at a pathology lab in Bhopal in 2015, when he met a woman with whom he eventually married. After a year of marriage and the birth of their daughter, the couple had a dispute about whether they should continue living in Bhopal or Shujalpur for the rest of their life.
Police Investigation:
According to investigating officer SI Vijay Singh,
On Tuesday around 2pm, Jatav approached her estranged wife’s home to discuss something, but she refused to talk. Following which he went outside her building to drink water from a water tap and consumed some poisonous substance there.
He further added that locals phoned police after seeing him lying lifeless, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died three hours later. There was no suicide note found at the crime scene, and a case was filed at the Kotwali police station.
As per NCRB Suicide Report 2019, approximately 98,000 Men died by suicide where top cause remained family problems.
