Everyone goes through difficult times in their lives. Sometimes the traumas are mental or physical. However, how many people devote themselves to help several others who could go through similar situations? Here is one such success story from Uttar Pradesh.
His Story
Ayush Mishra, a man, residing in Uttar Pradesh, had a traumatising accident, when he was in Jaipur finishing college. On the day of the accident, Ayush and his friend were riding on a bike on the highway, where they met with a truck accident.
Ayush lied on the road with his broken leg and was later transferred to a government hospital. However, the situation got out of control as his leg was severely infected, and he went into coma. The doctors were of the opinion that his survival chances were significantly less, and thus his parents took him to Delhi through some known contacts of his father.
Treatment
Ayush underwent undergo almost twenty surgeries at Apollo Delhi, where he was kept for nearly three to four months. He took a long time to recover from this trauma and side by side also completed his studies.
Are Connections Important for Treatment in India?
Ayush strongly felt that if his dad did not have connections for good treatment in Delhi, he would have probably not survived. This thought impacted his life and he decided to give back to society in his own little way.
Tattvan E-Clinic
Ayush started Tattvan E-clinic with an aim to connect people who live in rural areas to get the best facilities and best treatments from doctors pan India. He opened his first clinic in 2018 at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh and it started doing very well for him. After Bareilly, he opened other clinics in cities like Hyderabad and Dehradun, but then he moved back to concentrate more on the rural side of the country.
The main reason to open many clinics in rural areas where there were no facilities, was to facilitate communication with the people in need and some of the best doctors in the country.
How Does E-Clinic Work?
If anybody is affected by medical problem, the e-clinic would provide consultation for regular tests and medicines. Initially, it was not easy for Ayush, as he it was difficult gaining the trust of people. His biggest challenge was to make the people believe in his work by telling them what were the best options available for them.
This process took a lot of time, and currently, more than 80 percent of the people in rural areas where he has his e-clinic set up, are getting their treatments through them. Speaking to The Better India, Ayush quoted,
Tattvan E-clinic charges lesser fees from the people for their medicines.
Another challenge was that doctors were scared of consulting patients who they were not meeting physically.
Expansion Plans Halted Due To COVID-19
Initially, there were expansion plans to open more clinics in the rural side, however, due to COVID-19 pandemic, everything went on hold. When the situation improved in between, Ayush managed to open a clinic at Lalganj, which is situated near Varanasi. He asked for the help of doctors who live there to work with him and support him in this venture. The clinic is running very efficiently.
Later, Ayush also opened more clinics at namely Malsisar district in Rajasthan, Balrampur, and some other villages in Uttar Pradesh. These clinics were converted to provide tele consultation during COVID, and also deliver medicines directly to patient’s home.
Awards
In 2020, Tattvan E-clinic also received an award for India’s best rural and social healthcare business for doing such a good job. The only aim of Tattvan E-clinic is to establish more and more connect between the patients and the doctors for better treatments. Ayush also said,
We are the mediators between the patients and doctors, and we want the best for primary healthcare in India.
