In a shocking incident reported from Noida, a 24-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in Sector 54.
In an Instagram post addressed to the chief minister, the victim, Mohit Thakur, claimed he was pushed to take the step due to continuous harassment by his in-laws.
Mohit was a native of Aligarh working at an IT company in the city. On Saturday morning, his body was found less than 50 metres from his house. In the complaint filed at Sector 24 police station on Sunday, the victim’s father, Satendra Pal, claimed his son married a 20-year-old Muslim woman earlier this year. As reported by TOI, he said,
Soon after the marriage, the woman’s family filed a case against Mohit for allegedly abducting their daughter. The police had investigated the allegations and shut the case.
Police have registered a case against the woman’s father, mother and two uncles under IPC Section 306 (abetment to suicide) and have started the investigation.
