Tech age has really changed life for all. Adding to the same is the pandemic era where life has become even more dependent on technology. Transition is never bad, however, if the same is moving in a direction that can harm one’s future, it must be curbed and controlled.
A shocking case has been reported from Ahmedabad in Gujarat where a 15-year-old girl started posting her nude pictures online from the mobile phone she was given for her studies.
Case:
A family from Ahmedabad has suffered due to their minor daughter using her social media account to post her nude pictures, reported TOI. When the parents learnt that their daughter was not only posting indecent photographs online but also instigating her cousins to do the same, they suffered heart attacks.
The parents then called up 181 women helpline as they were extremely worried and concerned with their daughter’s actions. They informed the counsellors that they had given their daughter a separate room and a mobile phone so that she could carry on with her online studies in peace. However, their daughter began posting pictures of her private parts on social media. She posted her nude photographs online and even ask her cousins to follow her on social media and post their photographs too.
When the relatives informed her parents of what was happening, the father and mother both had heart attacks. They recovered but the girl continued to post indecent photographs online.
Counselling Given
The counsellors called the girl and made her aware that her act was a violation of cybercrime. The girl promised that she would use the cellphone only in front of her parents. After talking to the counsellors, the girl deleted her social media account and promised to use her mobile phone only for studies.
Today there is no difference between the thought process of a minor boy or a minor girl. Both genders can be influenced in the right or wrong way. Law should be equal for all and especially when children are young and in their adolescent age, they must be made well aware of the laws and their consequences.
