A woman accused of fraud since last two years has been finally arrested by Jawahar Nagar police station in Kota, Rajasthan. The woman was absconding since couple of years and her name featured in the top 10 list of three police stations.
It is alleged that the woman had taken possession of her former husband’s house by forging papers in her name. Multiple cases had been registered against the accused in Kota’s Kishorepura, Gumanpura and Jawahar Nagar police stations. The police had also announced a reward of Rs 2,000 on her.
Case:
Mukesh Arora was married to Meenakshi Jain alias Meena Arora (41) in 1999 and the couple also has a son. However, after few years of matrimonial dispute, the two divorced and Meenakshi married another man in Delhi.
In April 2017, Meenakshi returned to Kota on pretext of teaching her son. She then started visiting the child at her former husband’s place often. Mukesh said,
I was out for some work. During that time Meenu Arora (Meenakshi) started living in the house. On January 9, 2019, I learnt that Meenu got the home agreement, and power of attorney prepared in her name by forging documents. She also applied for a loan on the basis of those fake documents.
Former Husband Registers Police Complaint
CI Ramkishan said that in January 2019, Mukesh had submitted a complaint at the Jawahar Nagar police station in the said matter.
Along with this, a case of cheating was also registered against the woman in Kishorpura police station on May 24, 2019. Subsequently, Gumanpura police station too, registered another case against Meenakshi on July 11, 2019 for fraudulently availing a loan.
Accused Woman Changed Locations
According to the police, the accused woman kept changing her locations as she was aware of those complaints against her. She would keep moving from one place to another to avoid arrest and also kept her mobile switched off.
Arrest
The police was on a constant look out and the minute they learnt of her real time location, they arrested Meenakshi.
The accused was arrested from Ashok Nagar in Northeast Delhi.
