In a shocking video that has been going viral on Twitter over the weekend, a woman in white T-shirt can be seen slapping a cab driver in the middle of a road at Awadh crossing in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The video received tremendous outrage and several netizens demanded justice for the cab driver.
Here’s What Happened
In an undated video that has been floating on Twitter, a woman can be seen repeatedly slapping the driver. The driver can be heard saying that she has broken his phone, and is literally pleading to call for lady police. What remains shocking is that neither the traffic police stopped the violent woman from assaulting the Ola driver, nor any bystander dared to intervene in the same.
Soon, another video emerged, where one sole person came forward to save the man from being beaten up. While he was trying to rescue the cabbie, the woman slapped him as well.
Today a third video emerged, which clearly shows what happened prior to the altercation. The woman was crossing the road amidst heavy traffic movement, eventhough traffic signal was green for talking the left turn. The driver halts the car immediately in order to prevent hitting her. However, the woman gets enraged, starts hitting his car, gets him out of it and slaps him.
Thousands of people are trending #ArrestLucknowGirl and demanding her arrest.

Independent Jounalist Deepika Bhardwaj spoke with Krishna Nagar Police Station and shared the updated on the case as below. She quoted:
UPDATE #Lucknow Case: Restless, I called up Krishna Nagar PS. Been informed that driver & other man were booked under 151. #Priyadarshini was also booked under 107/14. She was let go from PS while men were let go after appearing in front of Magistrate.
As expected, this woman made allegations of molestation and misbehaviour by the driver but police now has all evidences to discredit her claims. I am told the driver & other man have filed a complaint against her which may convert into FIR. #ArrestLucknowGirl
Been informed that @adgzonelucknow will release a media byte on the case. When I asked SHO why @lucknowtraffic officer didn’t stop woman from slapping, this is what he said – “Purush officer the na. Vo agar beech mein aate to unpar bhi aarop lag sakta hai.”
