Women Rights NGO Founder Caught Slapping Other Women; Social Media Outrages Against Kangaroo Court Justice

Triple Talaq Bill was passed last week where a wife or any of her relatives could file a complaint against the man (husband) which could amount to 3 years of imprisonment and payment in the form of maintenance to the wife.

A video has gone viral on twitter since yesterday, after one of the Mens Rights Activist, KD Jha posted a tweet alleging a woman named Shabnam Shaikh from Mumbai was running a dubious organisation named ‘Helpcare Foundation’ and happened to be a habitual offender of violence against men and his female relatives. Jha also questioned Mumbai Police whether they had delegated their powers to the lady as seen in the video below that will follow.

The footage which is undated, shows the ruthless and arrogant attitude of the woman not just questioning the man and his relatives but also slapping women without any fear of law. There are also talks about some ‘setting with the girl in a 498A case’, however, since the video is not complete, it is difficult to draw conclusions whether there is any monetary exchange between Shabnam and the girl’s family to lay pressure on the boy and his relatives.

Citing this video which got more than 30k views as on date, there was mass outrage by several people questioning who authorised her to run a ‘kangaroo court’? These were some of the reactions below, which forced Mumbai Police to get in touch with KD Jha to enquire further about the video details.

Since there were many comments accusing Shabnam Shaikh of being a repeat offender, we searched about her a little more and here are a few cases already registered against the woman and reported in the media:

2015 as reported by Times of India : A representative of her NGO lodged a complaint alleging that a manager and 2 security guards of a Bandra club molested and assaulted the representatives of her group. In a counter complaint, the pub had accused the NGO members of extortion.

2017 : Bigg Boss 11 contestant Zubair Khan sought help from Helpcare foundation for justice, after he filed a complaint, against Salman Khan alleging threats, with Antop Hill police station in Mumbai. Shabnam had then accused Salman’s bodyguard Shera who called her to convince Zubair to take back the complaint and as alleged by her said,

I told him that it was not possible to take back the complaint and after that he started abusing me and saying that I will be raped by them.

2018: Mumbai crime branch’s anti-extortion cell arrested Zubair on charges of extortion after Shabnam filed a complaint against him.

There are several videos surfacing online about Shabnam Shaikh. Below is one such video where she is openly naming and shaming a man named Faizan and declaring him a convict herself.

Another video posted by a local city channel showed how Mumbai police had entered Shabnam’s home to arrest her, which she resisted on some excuse or the other. Faizan’s side of the story was covered in this footage and this is what he had to say.

It is sad when anyone projects themselves to be above law of the land, especially when you are claiming to fight for human rights yourself. We must also think what if a man was doing exactly what Shabnam Shaikh has been seen doing in the first video! There would have been mass hashtag trends against gender discrimination.

But she passes off………..perhaps because she is a ‘woman’.
