A man from Mudki village in Punjab died by suicide after accusing his wife and in-laws of harassment. The victim alleged that his in-laws harassed him to such an extent that he chose to end his life. He has also left a suicide note and a video that has gone viral on social media.
Case:
The deceased Nishan Singh had moved to Malaysia with his wife, identified as Veerpal Kaur, around two-years ago.
After reaching Malaysia, Kaur developed an extra-marital affair with a man named Harman Singh, who happened to hail from her maternal village. Harman was already a citizen of Malaysia.
Nishan learnt of his wife’s relationship with another man and constantly tried to stop her from damaging their marriage more. While the husband was making all efforts from his side to win back his wife, Kaur along with her father Jasmeel Singh, her mother Manjeet Kaur, and her brother Gurdeep Singh, often harassed him.
Harman later started visiting Nishan’s house to meet Veerpal in front of the husband, and this upset Nishan to such an extent that he decided to end his life.
Nishan’s father Uttam Singh, who is a farmer in Punjab – in his complaint to the local police – alleged that his son had called them around half an hour before his suicide and shared everything.
The father of the deceased is now demanding strict action against all the accused from the police and district administration. He has also appealed to the government to bring his son’s dead body to the village.
