Amidst Divorce Battle, Nawazuddin’s Niece Files Sexual Harassment Case Against Actor’s Brother After Years
Background:
On July 27, 2020, Nawazuddin’s wife Aaliya Siddiqui filed a zero FIR against husband Nawazuddin at the Versova police station in Mumbai. She had also framed her brother-in-laws Minajuddin, Fayazuddin and Ayazuddin, along with mother-in-law Mehrunisha under various sections including POCSO Act.
Aaliya alleged that in 2012, when she visited her in-laws’ house in Budhana, UP, her brother-in-law Minajuddin molested her minor daughter.
According to Aaliya, when she protested against this act, her brother-in-laws Faizuddin and Ayazuddin, along with her mother-in-law Mehrunnisa started beating and abusing her. She also accused husband Nawazuddin of threatening her against any kind of complaint to the police.
Subsequently, the FIR which was registered at Mumbai’s Versova police station, was transferred to Budhana police station in August 2020 for further investigation. Later, the Allahabad High Court had issued a stay against arrest of Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

UP Police Investigation
On October 16, 2020, the then investigator of the trial, Veer Narayan Singh, had recorded Aaliya’s statements under Section 164 CrPC before Civil Judge Senior Division Court of Jyoti Aggarwal. Aaliya had also given statements before Special POCSO Act Court Additional District and Sessions Judge Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari.
The Budhana police station, now, has given a clean chit to all the accused including Nawazuddin Siddiqui after investigating the matter in detail. A closure report was filed in the court, however, Special POCSO Act Court Judge Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari objected to it and returned the same.

Shamas also posted a note for media, not to refer Aaliya Siddiqui as Nawazuddin’s wife, as ‘she has taken Khula (divorce) many years ago.’
Note: kind attention to all media- don’t call she is his wife.
