A 38-year-old businessman hung himself to death on the 14th floor of Tulip Violet building in Sector 69, Gurugram in the wee hours of October this year.
The police booked his wife Priyanka and her friend Rajan for abetment to suicide after three different notes were found from husband’s home. While two handwritten notes were stuck to the refrigerator, the third was pasted on the wall.
However, what Men’s Day Out recently learnt is wife Priyanka too was found dead in November, just a month after her husband’s demise. It is alleged that she also committed suicide on Saturday November 15, in a hotel room at Zirakpur, near Chandigarh.
The police confirmed she was the same woman accused of abetment to suicide by her late husband, former Bihar DGP Ajit Dutt’s son Neeraj Dutt, who had committed suicide in his flat in Gurgaon on October 9.

According to police, Priyanka and Rajan together booked the room in Zirakpur hotel a few days ago before the former’s death, and Rajan left the hotel on Thursday, November 13, allegedly on work in Delhi. Later on Friday, Rajan reportedly informed the hotel staff that Priyanka was not taking calls. After failing to get a response, the staff called the police, who broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling fan in the room.
Priyanka’s family strangely did not lodge any complaint. The police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC.

We don’t know what drove Priyanka to end her life as well. Was it guilt or something else, the investigation by police will reveal in due course of time.
However, it is important for families and couples to understand that failure in marriage should not be the end of road. There is no point in taking extreme steps as you may go away peacefully, but leave behind your ageing parents to spend their rest of the lives, crying and remembering your memories since birth.
