Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui could be in for a long drawn and perhaps a messy divorce battle with his former wife Aaliya Siddiqui. Ever since she has sent a divorce notice to her ex-husband, Aaliya has made number of one sided allegations not just on the actor, but also his entire family, especially Nawaz’s brother and filmmaker Shamassuddin Siddiqui.
Aaliya has recently joined twitter and keeps posting her allegations weekly, expecting the media to pick up and do a write up on her. On June 13, Aaliya tweeted that she had now filed a criminal complaint against Shamas and tagged Mumbai Police directing them to file an FIR against her former brother-in-law. She wrote,
I have communicated a written complaint against Shamas Siddiqui for criminal offences punishable under Sec 503, 354, 354A, 354D & 509 of IPC & Sec 66 of IT Act. Please file FIR immediately. I have also submitted admissible evidence. @CPMumbaiPolice @MumbaiPolice

While Nawaz has decided to remain silent since the controversy has emerged, Shamas seems to now take on Aaliya in a legal language that she has resorted to. As reported by TOI Entertainment, the filmmaker went on to reveal that he has been supportive of Aaliya all along, even when she decided to turn producer with her film ‘Holy Cow’ and that they have been friends for a long time. Shamas said,
I have known her even before Nawazuddin did. I was the one who introduced them. We have been friends and I never called her bhabhi (sister-in-law). When she called me that her film ‘Holy Cow’ has been stuck due to funds, I gave her money with an agreement of Rs 1.30 crore. However over a course of time I had to transfer more money which now amounts to Rs 2.16 crore. We have had so many email exchanges with me asking for my money.
After the complaint filed by Aaliya, Shamas has counter filed a complaint of fraud and criminal breach of trust before the DCP of Mumbai’s ZONE 9 and a criminal defamation case at the Magistrates Court against Aaliya. He added,

Shamas’ advocate Adnan Shaikh too confirmed,
Legal notices were sent to Aaliya in August and September 2019 for siphoning funds and she refused to give accounts. There have been over 100 email exchanges in this regard.
One can get some perspective on what Aaliya is seeking, from her below interview. Every single allegation is how Nawaz and his family tortured her but she finds no fault in herself at all. We, as a portal, are not going to judge either parties and let the courts decide. However, Aaliya has herself chosen to be evaluated since the day she has joined the Supreme Court of Twitter!
