Its going to be nearly a year, when in last May Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s wife Aaliya Siddiqui (alias Anjana Pandey) had sent a legal notice to her husband demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life.
Aaliya then went on a spree giving print and video interviews, accusing Nawazuddin, his brother Shamas & entire family of several criminal charges. Aaliya had also complained that she was unable to pay her children’s school fees as Nawazuddin had stopped paying her monthly allowance. The actor’s lawyer had then rejected the claims.
Now, in a sudden turn of events, Aaliya has had a change of heart and insists that she does not intend to divorce her husband. As reported by several bollywood media outlets, Aaliya who filed multiple criminal complaints, now believes that Nawazuddin has been taking good care of her children and enquiring about her health while she battles COVID-19.
Despite being extremely busy, Nawaz is taking good care of both our children including their education and other needs. Not only this, he often calls me and enquires about my health and needs. I am very impressed with this side of Nawaz and it touched my heart. Earlier, he was never able to pay attention to his children. But now, I am really surprised to see him like this.
When Aaliya was asked whether they are trying to erase all differences, she replied,
Both Nawaz and me will try to eliminate all the problems between us. Going forward, we will sort all the problems and misunderstandings. We have been talking about this.
Nawazuddin’s Official Statement
Reacting to this new development, Nawazuddin spoke to Bombay Times and said,
I prefer not to talk about my personal life, and I have never spoken ill of anyone. I don’t let negativity and hatred get to me. She is still the mother of my children, and we have shared a decade of our life together. I will always support her no matter what. Mera farz banta hai ke main unka khayal rakhu (It is my responsibility to provide for them). Aaliya and I are not on the same page, we may not agree with each other, but our children have always been my priority.
They should not suffer because of us. Rishtey bante bighadte rehte hai, unka asar bacchon pe nahi hona chahiye (Relationships have their ups and downs, but that shouldn’t affect the children). I want to be a good father.
Reaction By Nawaz’s Brother Shamas
Shamas, who had been accused of physical violence by Nawaz’s wife, Aaliya, has said that their reconciliation is not related to his personal equation with her. As quoted by Hindustan Times, Shamas said that he loves his nephew and niece, and that his issues with their mother shouldn’t interfere with their parents’ issues with each other.
Nawaz ek acha insaan hai (Nawaz is a good man). His speciality is that he never leaves anybody in the lurch. I love these two kids very much. I can do anything for them. They too love me a lot and everyone (in the family) knows this. Nawaz bhai is the head of the family and whatever is good and right for him will be good and right for us too.
Aaliya had levelled serious allegations against Nawaz in her divorce notice and allegedly also demanded Rs 30 crore and 4 BHK apartment in Mumbai as alimony. In response, Nawaz too had sent a legal notice to his wife accusing her of ‘engaging in fraud, willful and planned defamation and slander of character.’
Nawaz, in his notice, had asked his wife not to make defamatory comments against him and also issued a written clarification against all her charges.
