MEN’S LIVES MATTER! Yes, that’s the latest bold move by two law students who have approached the Supreme Court seeking directions for reconsideration and amendment of provisions under the Indian Penal Code relating to sexual offences against women, to make them ‘gender neutral’.
The petitioners have sought directions to reconsider the laws for offences against women under IPC including:
- Sexual Harassment (Section 354A-354D)
- Rape (Section 376)
- Criminal Intimidation (Section 506)
- Outraging Modesty of Women (Section 509)
- Cruelty to women (Section 498A)
The petitioners have argued that such provisions are discriminatory on the ground of gender and affects the fundamental right to equality of men, and hence was violative of Articles 14 and 15(1) of the Constitution, reported Live Law.
In the plea, the petitioners have made statements such as :
- Fake feminism has polluted the Country
- Girls do acts of fake feminism by attacking innocents men to gain attraction of public
- Women intentionally assault men and destroy the dignity and respect of innocent boys who get stuck with fake feminists
- Law has given women sharp edged weapon like power without any reasonable restriction
The petitioners have also made a reference to the recent Lucknow Ola Driver Case, where the accused woman Priyadarshini Narayan was caught on camera, slapping the man 22 times (watch video and detailed article below).

The petitioners have also argued,
Trend of misuse’ of sexual offence laws by women is at rise, sabotaging respect, honour, the dignity of men.
Arguments On Archaic Laws
According to the two petitioners, Anam Kamil and Shrikant Prasad, these laws were made 150 years ago when women in society were in actual need of upliftment, however, today women are equally empowered in every way and such biased laws need to be made gender neutral. The plea further read,
According to the petitioners, in today’s era of social media, “women intentionally assault and brutally attack men” while their companions make video clips to make it go viral on social media. It added,
The dignity, respect, honour, career of such innocent boys who gets stuck with such fake feminists.
The petitioners have gone ahead and compared the impugned laws with decriminalisation of consensual gay sex and homosexuality in 2018, arguing that in the same way, the society and the legislature should recognise the crimes of cruelty and harassment being committed against #MenToo. Calling our False Rape allegations which are highly rampant in India today, the petitioners further remarked:
What about a man who was charged with the offence of rape and is proven innocent? Does society treat him in the same way as they used to do before he was trapped in a false case? The answer is no.
MDO Take:
- Crime Has No Gender, and all laws must be made gender neutral
- In the absence of neutrality not adopted by our system, several criminal minded women go scot free, taking undue advantage of biased laws in their favour
- Misuse is not just rampant by many women when it comes to false rape or assault cases on Men, but also in matrimonial matters, where their mere word is enough to register criminal cases against husbands and their entire families
- Domestic Violence Act 2005 is yet another one-sided law and India still does not recognise Abuse of Husbands by Wives in the four corners of a home; The abuse and cruelty can be verbal, mental or even physical, leaving men with no option but to continue with such insulting life which has no respect or dignity
- For far too many years, gender biased media has played a crucial role in constantly publishing only one sided articles/interviews showing how only and only women are the victims
- The other side of harassment, financial abuse of Men, threats of filing false cases against husbands when (wives) are caught in adultery, unreasonable alimony (reverse dowry) demands, torturing husband’s parents or threatening them with false dowry charges — all these have been completely ignored by mainstream, particularly the English media
- The same has resulted in NCRB publishing 2019 Suicide report stating 98,000 Men V/s 41,000 Women died by suicide where top reason was family dispute
- Its time, society as a whole, rises upto this menace and havoc created by Gender Biased Laws, and whether you are a man or a woman, you must stand up and speak up against misuse of laws or abuse of either gender
