Kerala YouTuber Exposes Clubhouse Discussion On How To Trap Anti-Feminists Using #MeToo Strategy

Clubhouse (voice chat rooms) is becoming popular amongst several netizens where like minded people get together and exchange oral chats. The app has also been criticised by many, since the discussions at times become rowdy or often accused of spreading absolute false narratives.

A Kerala YouTuber – Mallu Meninist – had put out a video recently, where he criticised a group of people within a chat room, who were discussing ways of attacking everyone who differed from their idea of ‘feminism’. The group allegedly discussed how to identify all anti-feminists, gang up against them and start calling them out using the tried and tested method of #MeToo.

The group also discussed how some of them should visit anti-feminist chat rooms and create nuisance. While another participant suggested to mass report such handles.

Presenter from Video: Namaste to everyone. Our state Kerala allows free discussion and the freedom to criticise any topic, be it religion, or anything, but one is not supposed to comment or criticise feminism. If you are a man, you are never supposed to criticise feminism. Reason? Since 1-2 days few of us criticised some aspects of feminism in a Clubhouse group, I’m making this video to share with you the conspiracy that was hatched on us. You listen to this audio and try to understand what this conspiracy was about.

Female voice 1 (a feminist) – some people sent me a link to this Clubhouse group, I don’t know them. So for me, in my opinion, we should get into such groups and take them on, attack them [other male voice disturbances from background]. I feel like going to the other Clubhouse group, at-least some members present in this group should go inside the other group and raise voice (create nuisance), this is my opinion. So thank you so much. I do not know if you might have raised this issue?

Female voice 2 (a feminist) – I’ve reported many people, there is an option to report people with screenshot images, I’ve reported their profiles earlier also, but I don’t know if there is any use of such reporting, as they are still using those profiles. But for our satisfaction we had reported these profiles on Clubhouse [Female voice 1 interrupts, unclear due to disturbance]

Female voice 1 (a feminist) – if that is the case we need to proceed with MeToo method of naming and shaming. We are around 200 people, one person can post and the rest people can share the post, and considering the situation in Kerala, other people online will join the bandwagon and do the needful (online bashing), because anyone who wants to gain brownie points to show they are “Woke” voice, so I think we should follow this strategy, we are prompted to do it. If there was anything little healthy in their discussion, we would not have needed to take this strategy. So this is my request, whenever you see notifications, you can go and speak up. This should demonstrate our clear standpoint. That if they do something, they will not get away with it.

Female voice 1 (a feminist) – yes I’m done.

Female voice 2 (a feminist) – I agree with the idea proposed by Female voice 1, if we start working on this, that would be really good.

Male voice 1 (a feminist) – shall we do it immediately now? [male voice interrupts]

Female voice 2 (a feminist) – it would be good if you could do it immediately. Anyone in the speakers list, who would like to speak anything?

Female voice (a feminist) – I think it is better to conclude

Male voice (a feminist) – We’ve to repeat it tomorrow, just keep in mind.

Female voice 2 (a feminist) – so we will end this ‘room’, we were present for quite some time, since the other group did not allow us to express our opinion and muted our voices, we created this group spontaneously, for those who could not convey their opinions in the other group, similarly if anyone has any mental ‘issues’ this group was made for such people to vent out those feelings, also to talk about things from other group in a comical way.
