If women have a difficult life, as they claim, #MenToo go through some extreme pressures, largely because they are perpetually labelled as sole providers of the family. If they fail to do so, they are ridiculed and mocked for not being men enough. Some choose not to emote their feelings what they go through, and some choose to end their lives.
One such sorrowful case has been reported from Kerjiwala village under Pasiana police station in Punjab, where a husband was pressurised by wife and her family, to celebrate their child’s birthday with great pomp and show.
Case:
The deceased, identified as 27-year-old Harvinder Singh, used to work as an interior designer in Punjab. He married Jyoti four-years ago. However, within six-months into the marriage, wife allegedly fought with the man, left him and returned to her maternal home.
Thereafter, for three-years, Jyoti chose to live with her maternal family, and there she also gave birth to their son. A Panchayat was set up in the village in the beginning of this year, where a unanimous decision was taken that the woman would return to her husband along with their child.

The husband was pressed to do so, and when he argued, Jyoti’s mother and brother once again landed up to take her and the grandson along with them. Harvinder tried to persuade Jyoti and his in-laws, and also told them that he would not be able to live if they take her again.
Around 4 in the evening, wife left home with her family, and within half an hour from her departure, the husband hanged himself from the fan in his room. His family tried to break open the door, however, by the time they were able to enter the room, their son was dead.
