32-Year-Old Woman Murders Husband With Help Of 23-Year-Old Lover; Children Turn Witness

Yet another case of husband murder due to adultery by wife has been reported from Rajasthan. The wife and her paramour allegedly murdered the husband and tried their best to make it look like a suicide.

Both the accused have been arrested on Friday and were presented in the court on Saturday.

Case:

Gurmeet Singh lived with his wife Sativinder Kaur in Sakhi village, Rawlamandi, Rajasthan. According to police investigation, 32-year-old wife was in an illicit relationship with a 23-year-old man named Rajvinder Singh.

The paramour used to visit the woman in the absence of her husband at night. On the eve of the incident, Satvinder called Rajvinder to her house with liquor. The duo then made Gurmeet consume lot of alcohol. While the husband got drunk, he had a fight with the duo and the same became a tipping point for the lover and the wife to strike.

Rajvinder pushed Gurmeet to the ground and strangled him. The wife then gave her scarf to her lover, so that he could strangulate the husband. Later, the couple dumped the husband’s body in a tank full of water, assuming that the same would pass off as suicide.

Children Turn Witness

Baljeet Singh, brother of the deceased, registered a case against the two accused on October 20 at Rawla Police station. He informed the officials that his brother had disappeared from the residence at night.

10-year-old daughter Khushpreet Singh and 7-year-old son Daljeet Singh, woke up by the noise created during the murder of their parent. They happened to see their mother and her lover killing their father. Both children were in shock for some days, however, later revealed all details.

Gurmeet’s body was later recovered from a tank in his house during a police search.

Police Investigation

After killing the husband, wife’s paramour had gone underground. However, the police arrested wife Satvinder Kaur and her paramour on Friday. In the initial questioning, the accused confessed to the crime.

The body was sent for postmortem, where the reason for death was recorded as strangulation.

RSP Parikh acknowledged the role of Sohanlal Rathod of Sakhi Panchayat who played a key in cracking the case. He assisted police in questioning people of the village. Station-in-charge also traced Rajvinder Singh who had run away to Punjab after the incident.

Both the accused were made to sit face to face and were interrogated, where they admitted to their crime. Police also traced scratches made by Gurmeet’s nails on Rajvinder’s chest, while defending himself from the murderers.
