Woman Murders Husband Along With Lover | Also Makes His Fake Death Certificate

A woman along with three men have been charged for murder of her husband in Malad, Mumbai. While two men have been arrested, the wife and the doctor who helped her, are on the run.

The wife was not just involved in murdering her husband, but also creating a fake death certificate to prove that the death was natural.

Case:

• On December 20, Crime Branch Unit VIII in Northern suburbs of Mumbai got a tip-off that one Mahesh Patel (35), a resident of Madh Marve in Malad, was cremated without any intimation to authorities
• The culprits along with the deceased’s wife procured a fake death certificate from a local doctor – who passed it off as a case of natural death – and carried out Patel’s last rites
• Mahesh was a luxury bus driver and remained away from home for several days
• Arup Das (25) – one of the accused – was a supervisor at a South Mumbai hospital canteen
• Das used to stay at Mahesh’s home in Malad, however, had later shifted out
• Arup used to meet Mahesh’s wife secretly and subsequently shifted back to their house by offering Rs 5,000 per month rent

• Das was in an illicit affair with Patel’s wife and when the latter caught them in a compromising position, Arup was thrown out with immediate effect
• The couple were unable to meet each other and thus decided to eliminate Mahesh
• They also hired a tempo to bump off Mahesh in a road accident but failed twice
• Later, the duo planned to poison the victim
• Das’ friend Sagar Sharma who is an auto driver provided them with sleeping pills
• Mahesh’s wife added the pills to his food, however, her plan once again failed
• This is when she called Arup home that night to strangle her husband to death

Police official probing the case said,

We were told he was cremated after a fake certificate stating it was a natural death was procured. Our probe found that Patel’s wife was in love with one Arup Sarveshwar Das. An auto driver Sagar Sharma known to them arranged for sleeping pills. After Patel did not die despite being given several pills, Das smothered him with a pillow.

The officer added,

Das and auto driver Sharma have been arrested. Efforts are on to nab Patel’s wife and the local doctor.

The police are also probing where the victim’s mother-in-law and children were on the night of his death. Once again mainstream media avoids providing name and image of the accused woman.
