A woman from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh was imprisoned for a period of six months as she had tried to murder her husband last year. The incident took place in Nayapurwa locality of Musanagar area of the city. However, the accused woman was successful in eliminating her husband once she returned from the prison.
Case:
Anup Kumar, a 42-year-old man, was killed by his wife Sandhya alias Muniya, on the night of November 16. According to the police investigation, there was a dispute on the day of the incident. However, this was not a one off case and the duo used to fight almost every day, while still cohabiting together.
On the day of Anup’s murder, the accused wife was constantly yelling that her husband was not waking up something might have happened to him. The neighbours rushed into the home to find the man already have passed away. They then intimated the cops immediately.
When the police arrived, they saw marks on the deceased’s throat, which made them suspicious of the wife’s involvement. Moreover, the woman kept changing her statements repeatedly, however, finally broke down when the cops interrogated her firmly.
Anup’s father Rambabu also hurried in from Simaria Deorahat village to the couple’s residence after hearing news about his son. He also suspected something and subsequently registered a case of murder against his son’s wife and her brother.
Police Investigation
ASP Anup Kumar reached the spot with his team and once the questioning begun, Sandhya kept changing her statements. When the cops questioned her repeatedly, the wife finally admitted to her crime.
Meanwhile, post-mortem described that the man was hit on the head. Apart from this, there were bruises found on his face and cheeks as well as swelling on the neck. The forensic team also collected other pieces of evidence from the scene. CO Bhoganipur Prabhat Kumar confirmed that the wife was being questioned further on the same.
Background
About a year and a half ago, Sandhya tried to set Anup on fire due to a dispute. However, the man somehow survived, and a case was registered against the accused, after which, she spent six-months in jail.
Despite attempt to murder on the man, woman returned from the jail to live with her husband, which his family and neighbours were not in favour of. The matter ended in husband ultimately losing his life.
