Haryana police arrested a woman, accused for grabbing lakhs of rupees in cash, by threatening to implicate a businessman in a false rape case.
A vehicle, mobile phone and cash worth Rs 9,000 have been recovered from the possession of the accused woman. In past 4-years, the woman had extorted Rs 50 lakh from the businessman. However, when the accused woman forwarded some objectionable photographs of the businessman to his wife, the wife registered a police complaint.
Case:
Superintendent of Police (SP) Lokendra Singh said that the victim is resident of Dhand Road, Modal Town Kaithal, whose wife had filed a complaint against the accused woman for extortion.
The businessman started living in Chandigarh since 2015. He was dealing in purchase and sale of mobile phones in Sector 22. During this period, on December 16, 2017, he went to one Highway Club with friends, where they introduced him to a woman named Jasleen Kaur. The woman used to work in a club at Mohali and was celebrating her birthday on that day.
Later the businessman and Kaur became friends, however, the man categorically informed the woman that he was married and had two children. Despite knowing his matrimonial status, the adult woman still preferred maintaining a relationship with him and also started visiting his home frequently. The duo then developed consensual physical relations with each other.
Subsequently, Kaur started taking financial help from the businessman and later became completely dependent on him.
Extortion On Pretext Of Rape Complaint
The financial help soon turned into lakhs of rupees being demanded by Kaur, compelling the businessman to give into her demands. On one occasion, the complainant said that he deposited Rs 1.18 lakh towards car loan for Kaur – through his driver – and second time sent Rs 47,000 April 28, 2021.
Later, the woman and her brother-in-law started pressuring the businessman to open a beauty parlour in her name. Once again, under pressure, the victim paid up Rs 10 lakh for the same and on August 14, 2021, further sent Rs 5 lakh cash to Kaur through his driver.
The extortion and blackmail did not stop there. Now, the woman was forcing the businessman to buy her a home in Chandigarh, else she threatened him with a false rape case.
On November 4 this year, the accused woman visited the businessman’s farm house in Kaithal and started demanding money from him. On November 8, Kaur once again insisted that the businessman met her at Pehowa Chowk in Kaithal. However, this time when the complainant refused to do so, Kaur forwarded their objectionable photograph’s to businessman’s wife.
She also threatened to implicate them in her suicide case, if the demand for money was not fulfilled.
Superintendent of Police said that the team led by Inspector in-charge Amit Kumar later arrested the accused woman Jasleen Kaur red handed.
MDO Take:
- MDO does not promote or encourage infidelity, however, we are also not judgemental about the choice two adults make, fully understanding the consequences of the same
- But, we need to highlight these cases, since they demonstrate the gross and rampant misuse of rape laws in India
- Several rackets and gangs are operating across the country, where wealthy men are lured into physical relationships and then blackmailed for money
- In some cases, the men who are not even involved with women, are drugged and trapped into false cases, thereby, threatening them to be exposed and shamed in society
- In all such scenarios, men must not give into any monetary demands of such con women
- Kindly report all such blackmailers to police after gathering evidences
- If you are ashamed of being labelled with names in society, and think you can sort it out with money, there is no end to the same
- Face the consequences as a Man and ensure that you don’t become party to encouraging such gang operations in the future with other men
- Be alert whenever you are visiting pubs or other public places for recreation; please read up the laws before you choose to get carried by unknown women
