An executive from NCR was blackmailed by a woman — to pay money — who honey-trapped him by getting onto a video call. After encouraging the man to strip over the call, the woman threatened him with a false ‘online rape’ case, if he did not pay up.
Case:
A 27-year-old executive from Gurugram, who works for a finance company, was allegedly forced to pay Rs 5,100 by a woman who set-up an online bait for the man and also recorded him while he had removed all his clothes.
The blackmailer woman then saved the video and threatened him to make the same viral if he did not pay her the desired amount.

The young man had opened an account with a dating app last month, thereafter, he came in contact with the con woman. The executive alleged that it was the woman who first approached him, they both started chatting and eventually exchanged their numbers.
The victim alleged that the woman persuaded him to do a video call, and she recorded it without his knowledge. DCP Rajesh S said that the man had removed all his clothes over the call. As reported by TOI, the victim quoted:
Soon after I hung up, I got a call and a WhatsApp video message. The video had my picture taken from the call and there was a caption saying that I had raped the woman online. They threatened to make the video public if I did not pay them.

Initially the woman demanded Rs 5,100 if the man did not wish his video to go viral on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. The man out of no choice made the payment, however, once again the woman demanded an additional Rs 5,100 if he wanted the clip to be deleted permanently.
This time, the man asked her to send the clip to him and denied paying any further amount. He also blocked the Whatsapp number later from where the accused had contacted him.
The executive then reached the police station at Sector 39 and lodged a case against the woman. As there is no separate law for “online rape”, hence, an FIR has been lodged under IPC 384 (extortion) and relevant provisions of IT Act. A copy of the complaint has been submitted to the cyber cell.
Recently, another similar case was reported from Noida, wherein a DRDO scientist was honey-trapped and held hostage by a gang at a local hotel. The accused in the case had asked the wife of the man to pay them Rs 10 lakh for his release. Read Story Below.
