A professor from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) died by suicide on November 29. Dr. Rishi Bhardwaj, 40, was an assistant professor and the head of the department of optometry, School of Medical Science.
He died in his home inside the university campus. According to the police, he had a dispute with his family and ended his life while his wife was out on a morning walk. He was taken to Citizen Hospital where he was declared dead. Later, he was taken to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.
On receiving information, the Gachibowli police visited the spot and have taken up investigation.

Gachibowli police inspector R Srinivas informed Bangalore Mirror that family issues seem to have led the professor to the extreme. He said,
He was disturbed by family issues and was in depression for some time. We are verifying the facts.
The police have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and are investigating the situation. Postmortem was conducted at the Osmania General Hospital.
