A dreadful incident was reported from Ahmedabad, where a wife along with her children — daughter and son — killed her husband by beating him with wooden rods. The man died after a day as he was not able to sustain the gruesome injuries. Here’s the reason behind the same.
50-year-old auto rickshaw driver Veenu Parmar, was a resident of the Ambawadi area in the city who was brutally thrashed by his wife Ranjan, their daughter Hinal (19), and a 17-year-old minor son (identity withheld because he is not an adult).
The reason behind the trio murdering the man of the house was Ranjan wanted Veenu to transfer his property on her name. Eventually the children too sided the mother and started forcing the man to register the house, he owned in the Ambedkar colony, on his wife’s name.

According to brother Ramesh, his brother Veenu was getting beaten up and harassed by his wife and children for nearly a decade now. He also alleged that his brother’s family were constantly forcing him to transfer the house to Ranjan’s name. Parmar’s third child is in class 7. Ramesh said the family was also harassing Veenu for not being able to earn much during pandemic. He quoted:
They were also harassing him for not earning much as his livelihood was hampered due to lockdown. They had beaten him so badly that he succumbed to the injuries later.
As a society, we are prompt to ask women in abusive relationships to leave for a better life. However, when it comes to men who suffer the most horrible times, we expect them to stay put and play their role as the provider — until they meet their fatal end like in this case. Crime and abuse have no gender. Men must speak up and take a stand before its late.
