A woman allegedly staged a ‘robbery’ at her own house in north Delhi with the help of her aide. On Tuesday, both of them have been arrested after they confessed to have hatched the plan of robbing cash and gold jewellery from the house. The incident took place in Shastri Nagar at north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla on August 30.
The mother of 28-year-old accused woman was working as a maid at 65-year-old Rakesh Kumar’s home. The younger woman then married the man a month ago and was living at his flat in North Delhi with him. As mentioned by police, the accused was the third wife of Mr Kumar. He also has a five-year-old son from his previous marriage.
Kumar was making money through renting out a few properties he had, as his fan manufacturing unit in Delhi was shut down due to losses in business.
Here’s What Happened
The accused woman conspired with her 30-year-old male friend Jitender to rob cash and jewelry from her new married husband’s home. She tied and injured herself so as to mislead her husband and the investigators, as informed by the police.
The husband after seeing his wife in that state immediately called the police. The woman told cops that some unidentified men had entered the house “forcefully”. She also said that she was injured with a hammer, while they robbed all the cash and jewellery and tied her hands and legs before fleeing.
The woman was then admitted to Acharya Bhikshu hospital by the police where she was given treatment. Meanwhile, the investigation was initiated, after a case was registered on the statement of her husband, briefed Anto Alphonse, deputy commissioner of police (north).
