Amidst a maintenance case hearing in a divorce matter, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday ordered the SP Traffic of Prayagraj to personally present himself, after a lady lawyer was delayed for her client’s (wife) case due to jam outside the court.
The bench of Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery directed the SP Traffic to come up with appropriate plan to manage the traffic and parking around the High Court for free ingress and outgress.

Here’s What Happened
A woman named Taiba had moved the High Court seeking a direction to the lower Court to expedite the proceeding of the maintenance case under Section 125 CrPC, filed against her husband. She was represented by her lawyer Ms Saher Naqvi.
The matter was listed for Wednesday, when the wife’s counsel was caught up amidst the haphazardly parked vehicles around the High Court, due to which, she could barely make it on time.
Naqvi had to park her car about 1 km from the gate of High Court and she had to run to reach this Court before 4pm, so that her case may not be dismissed for want of prosecution.
Finally, after making it to the court, the counsel justified her delay stating how the same was due to the failure of few police personnel on road, who were unable to manage the jam and parking of vehicles.

Consequently, the Court directed the matter to be listed on September 23, 2022 at 10am and said,
S.P. Traffic, Prayagraj is directed to appear before this Court on the next date fixed with appropriate plan to manage the traffic and parking around the High Court for free ingress and outgress.
Learned A.G.A. present in Court is directed to communicate this order to the officer concerned.
