Wife Elopes With Lover & Valuables As Husband Is Stuck In Different State During Lockdown

Too many stories on how wives are the only sufferers during lockdown! However, there are several reports which get buried by the ultra feminist stream of journalism — that covers up the ‘other side’.

An incident has been reported from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where a husband was away for his travel agency work and got stuck in a different state for two months. During this period, his wife fled home with her lover and also carried along all the cash and jewellery kept in the house. When the husband returned a week ago, his home was locked. After some investigation, he learnt about his wife eloping with another young man. Nonetheless, the husband then approached police to search for her. 

The husband is a resident of Sadar police station area who works as a driver in a travel agency in Delhi. His wife lived alone in Agra. During this time, she developed affair with a young man from their area. According to the man, an attempt was made to convince both of them through the panchayat, however, after a fight with her husband, she left for her parents’ home. The husband was under the impression that she would return soon.

Amidst this, the travel agency driver had to leave for a tour to Himachal Pradesh and two days later, a nationwide lockdown was announced. The husband was left stranded in the hills and despite his efforts of reaching out to his wife over the phone, he could not establish any contact.

When he returned home a week ago, he was shocked to see a lock. He then went straight to his in-laws’ house where he was informed that their daughter had left maternal home ten days ago on pretext of returning to her own home. 

The husband reached his house once again and discovered cash worth rupees seventy-five thousand, jewellery and other valuables missing from the cupboard. He also learnt that his wife’s lover too was missing since ten days.

The husband has filed a complaint with the police to bring her back. He has also accused the young man for luring his wife since two years. Police is currently on a look out for the run away woman.

Often such incidents may be of least importance to society and we brush it off as a domestic dispute. However, if a man leaves his wife for another woman, we are prompt to call him names and immediately label him as irresponsible and debauch husband.

Government of India alerts interpol when NRI husbands ditch their wives, but locally as a reverse, we merely ask husbands to move ahead in life.
