Matrimonial battles are getting dirtier by the day, especially when laws are completely biased in favour of wives, combined with zero fear of law for women even if they lie, forge documents or hide facts in the court.
However, we must give credit to many local state channels who have been covering on ground, the menace of false cases and harassment on husband’s family. One such report has been put out by Pehchaan Faridabad.
Case:
The case pertains to Faridabad, NCR, where family of a man is speaking to local media on their son’s short lived marriage and harassment due to false cases by daughter-in-law. Husband is in jail for past 3-months and this is what his brother has to say:
My brother got married in 2014, and the couple lived together hardly for few months. His wife left home one day on her own and her family came enquiring about her whereabouts. When we told them that we were not aware, they filed complaint against us in Mahila Thana and the same dragged on for 2-3 years. When things did not turn out in their favour, the woman and her family filed new cases in court.
My brother’s wife would visit her husband’s office, create a scene and ensured he was asked to leave from the job. Wherever my brother went for work, she would go, harass him and subsequently, he would lose his employment.
Alternately, the woman has informed court that she is not working. However, today we have caught her red-handed working at a property dealer’s office. Our brother is in jail because of her false cases since three-months.
Everytime she tells the judge, that she is not interested in living with her husband and that she wants my brother to remain in jail only until he pays up maintenance.
We had been observing her for some days and today she dodged us, soon as she realised she was caught working. We have seen her with another man on the scooty as well.
The man’s sister adds,
The woman has stayed with my brother barely for 4-months. We have seen her coming with another man to court everytime. She has filed several cases like false dowry case and maintenance case. She says give us Rs 35 Lakh in settlement.
Brother interrupts,
The minute one case gets over, she and her lawyer file another case.
The jailed man’s father also opens up. He quotes,
Court must see how she is lying that she is unemployed. Today we have caught her red-handed. We want our child out of the jail.
The entire family describes how it has been 8-years and the woman is taking Rs 3,000 per month since all these years, despite their son being jobless for past three-years. According to them, the judge is not ready to release him, until he pays up. They question how can he pay if the judge does not allow him to come out and find work!
