Watch Video | Father Kumar Sanu Apologises For Jaan; Blames Ex-Wife For Son’s Upbringing

Bigg Boss 14 contestant Jaan Kumar Sanu sparked a controversy recently when he asked his fellow contestant Nikki Tamboli not to speak in the Marathi language. The statement repeatedly made by Jaan in a segment on the show, irked ruling Shiv Sena as well as Raj Thackeray led MNS, who created a ruckus in Mumbai and threatened to vandalise the sets of the show.

Soon Jaan said sorry publicly on the show, when he was called inside the Confession Room and was asked to apologise for his remark allegedly insulting the Marathi language. With folded hands, Jaan apologised and mentioned that he never intended to hurt any sentiments. Even the channel rendered an apology for airing the content and not chopping it off.

Now we see his father, noted singer Kumar Sanu, coming up with a video apology, that is being widely shared on social media.

Father’s Apology

In the video, the famous singer is seen recalling how he has sung in the Marathi language and has respected all the languages. He also highlighted how he has collaborated with late Balasaheb Thackeray in the past and is grateful for what Mumbai has given him in his life.

We can hear the father saying ‘sorry’ to the state of Maharashtra and admitted that his son has done a mistake by commenting on the Marathi language. Sanu also went on to blame Jaan’s upbringing, which was done solely by his mother after their separation three decades ago.

Kumar Sanu said he has been separated from Jaan and his mother for the last 27 years and it is due to how his wife has brought up their son that he can’t think before making such remarks on a show.

Singer’s Divorce

Kumar Sanu got divorced from his first wife Rita Bhattacharya after the reports of his alleged affair with actor Meenakshi Seshadri surfaced in the media. The singer has three sons from this first wife and two daughters from his second wife Saloni Sanu.

The disclosure by Sanu comes as a shock for many, who have known Jaan Kumar Sanu largely as the son of the great legendary singer. However, child custody matters and alienation from fathers after divorce is a matter of concern which we have often discussed on our platform.
