30-year-old Amar Singh Sahu, businessman by profession, shot himself on Friday after a dispute with his wife and in-laws. The incident was reported from Karelabag, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
The family rushed him to the hospital, however, he had stopped breathing by the time he could receive medical help. The husband allegedly shot himself while his wife was preparing to leave him for good. Her parents had already arrived at her matrimonial home to take her back with them. The man kept pleading to her to not leave him.
Police later sent the body for postmortem.
Case:
The deceased was an adopted child of Shyamsundar, a resident of Narayanpuram colony. The grocery shop vendor had adopted Amar as he did not have a son.
Seven-years-ago, Singh got married to Neha Gupta, a resident of Muratganj Bharwari, Kaushambi. The couple had a daughter after marriage, however, there were constant fights between the two for the last several months.
On Friday, the wife informed her family about these disputes, after which they immediately arrived to take her home. Amar on the other hand, did not want his wife to leave.
When he saw no response from Neha, he went to his shop and a gunshot was heard. Amar had shot himself with a gun. As soon as the family learnt about this, they rushed towards his shop but found him dead. Amar laid in a pool of blood, while the gun was found on the ground next to his body.
The police while examining the crime spot suggested that prima facie the death seems to be a result out of a family dispute. The man did not want his wife to leave him. When nobody paid heed to his pleadings, he was enraged by the situation and decided to end his life.
However, the presence of a gun with Amar has raised several questions in the investigation. Cops are trying to dig deep on the gun angle.
Father Said Son Suffered From Torture
The police have termed this as a suicide, however, the father of the deceased had accused his son’s in-laws responsible for his untimely death. Shyamsundare told officers that his son was tortured by his in-laws and also that he had been continuously pleading to his wife and her parents not to take her along. When they did not bother to hear him, Amar decided to end his life.
The father continued further that few days ago as well, the wife had left for her maternal home. However, this time when she packed her baggage, Amar was not able to bear the pain which pushed him to die of suicide.
