I was told by a batchmate of my son who resides in same locality, about the development between 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm on May 4, 2020. He was the one who saw objectionable messages on Instagram and informed me over phone.
After my son saw the false and defamatory allegations followed by bulk of reactions made him go into shock and depression leading him to end his life.

Last week, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been formed to probe the matter, on the directions of DCP (East). The four-member SIT is headed by ACP (DLF), with the other members being the SHO of Sector 53 police station, and two personnel from the Cyber Crime police station. Subhash Bokan, PRO of Gurugram Police said,
Based on the recovered data of deceased’s mobile phone, it appeared that objectionable messages were posted on Instagram. Subsequently, an FIR under IPC section of 306 (Abetment of Suicide) registered in sector 53 police station and further investigation is on.
We have also served notice to Instagram to appear before SIT.
We cannot comment at the moment why the FIR is registered against ‘unknown persons’ when the name of the girl and her instagram post was a matter of public knowledge. We are following this story.
In other update, family of the deceased boy has requested all to light a candle in his memory on Saturday (today), May 16 at 8pm. While many people have posted the name and pictures of the boy online, Men’s Day Out is refraining from doing so, since the boy was a minor and the same is against Juvenile Justice Act.
