In a shocking incident from the capital, Sunit Kumar Paswan, a 34-year-old techie from Delhi committed suicide on Sunday night. He has blamed his wife for it.
In the suicide note, which the deceased left behind, Sunit has clearly mentioned that he is ending his life because of his wife. According to a Times of India report, the victim got married five-years-ago in 2014 and lived in a rented apartment with his wife and a four-year-old son. He was currently working in a software company in Noida since 2017.
Sunit penned his last words by mentioning that his wife suspected him of having an affair with his colleague and had publicly shamed him. According to his family, this incident disturbed him a lot and he used to remain depressed. Sunit apologised to his parents, siblings and son through his last note and asked them to live happily.
Paswan also mentioned about his office colleague in the letter. He wrote,
She is my colleague……I regarded her only as my good friend. I did not want to humiliate her, but she has been embarrassed because of my wife’s allegations and I cannot see this. You are a nice girl, please forgive me. I was not wrong.
According to the statement given by the deceased’s wife, on that fateful day, her husband after dinner went inside the room. Later his body was found to be hanging from the ceiling.
Other family members of the victim are also being interrogated by the Police and the suicide note has been sent to the forensic lab. Paswan’s father, who is an ASI in Bihar Police, said,
Since the time of marriage in 2014, Sunit was being harassed by his wife and mother-in-law. The harassment had become even worse in past three years.
Neither of the media reports mention about any arrest of the wife even after the suicide note clearly mentioned her name. In a reverse, a husband of a deceased wife is often arrested even without any suicide note.
This tool is often practised by wifes when they want to demean, pull down their husband’s image in the society, they allege without any basis or evidences that husband is having extramarital affairs.
