However, to the baby girl’s good fortune, a few dogs who were present at the spot, immediately rushed to the drain and dragged the bag out. In a society where humans failed the newborn, it was the dog that pulled her out using their presence of mind.
Several people gathered as the man’s best friend started barking and eventually with the help of the police, the girl was taken to the hospital.

As per the local police, the condition of the baby was serious in the morning, but later in the evening the condition had considerably improved. The authorities have registered a case against the unidentified woman under section 317 of the IPC.
Anil Agarwal, a pediatrician from the Civil Hospital said,
The condition of the girl was sensitive and she weighed less than 1,100 grams. She has been treated all day at civil medical center.
This incident leaves many of us speechless especially, because it was a woman herself who felt the girl child was a burden and chose to dump the little angel into the drain. Currently it is unknown, whether the woman was the biological mother of the child, nevertheless, this shameful act deserves the strictest of punishment at the earliest.
In a world where men are blamed for shaping a patriarchal society, many women too are equally responsible for this regressive mindset that prevails in our country.
