33-Year-Old Man Dies By Suicide After Being Harassed & Financially Cheated By In-laws

A 33-year-old man died by suicide in Punjab, after he was allegedly harassed by his in-laws. The man also uploaded his last video on social media before ending his life.

Case:

Abhishek Khurana, a native of Gobindgarh, was living at a rented house in Sunny Enclave, Kharar, where he took the extreme step by inhaling nitrogen gas through a pipe on July 21.

Abhishek, who was an online coach for Common Admission Test (CAT), had got married around eight years ago. After few months, he invested some money in the business of his in-laws, who allegedly cheated him of Rs 1 crore.

According to media report, the victim also uploaded a video on social media before his suicide. In the video, Abhishek blamed his wife and in-laws for his financial loss and mental harassment. He also said that his wife, along with their minor son, was staying at her parental house in Gobindgarh and he was living alone in a rented house for the past seven months.

In the video, he further stated that they harassed him mentally and his wife even stole all gold jewellery and cash from his house.

Police Statement

Harsh, in-charge of the Sunny Enclave police post, Kharar, said they have arrested the wife and also booked Khurana’s father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law for abetment to suicide. The body was handed over to his family members after the postmortem examination.
