A 24-year-old woman from Kerala’s Thrissur has been taken into custody for allegedly blackmailing and sexually exploiting a 16-year-old girl. The minor girl had subsequently died by suicide.
Local police said they will be pressing charges of abetment to suicide charge against Abhirami, the accused woman.
Case:
The teenage girl was a first-year college student who was found dead at her residence in the city around one year ago. Subsequently, a case of unnatural death had been registered and investigations were initiated.
As reported by Times Now, the investigators were about to close the case, however, just then certain suspicious details emerged during the examination of the deceased girl’s phone call records.
Investigation
Following this, the investigators retrieved other data, including photographs, in the teenager’s mobile phone. The officers were in for a shock as they discovered that the deceased was in a same-sex relationship with a the accused tattoo designer.

The investigators also came to know that the now-deceased girl came in contact with Abhirami, who is a native to Varantharappilly, through a classmate. Abhirami allegedly kept blackmailing and sexually abusing her. She also forced her to cut off ties with a youngster.
Woman Booked
On the basis of digital evidence, police has registered a case against Abhirami under Section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A police officer also said that the abetment to suicide charge will also be added against the accused.
