When the cops stopped the vehicle, they found about three and a quarter grams of heroin and 60 drug tablets from the back pocket of the driver’s seat. The police immediately arrested husband Ranjit Singh and his wife Gagandeep Kaur.
However, Singh clarified that he had just returned from Italy two-weeks ago, and that he never consumed any drugs. When the cops investigated Kaur’s mobile, they found the image of the drugs kept in the car, the same photograph which she had sent to her uncle.
Thereafter, reality unfolded and Gagandeep confessed that her uncle Manjit had ordered the drugs and given it to her. She then placed it in the car and sent a photo of the same to her uncle.
Kaur had asked Ranjit to take her to Jalandhar on pretext of buying some medicine. This is when the case opened up.
