In an incident reported from Punjab, a person belonging to Dalerpur Kheda village died of suicide after hanging himself from the noose.
The deceased has been identified as Atul Kumar son of Sai Das. The deceased’s brother Ashok Kumar informed Puranshala police that his brother Atul was married in 2009 to Sarbjit Kaur, daughter of Ramesh Kumar. The couple had two sons, however, both the husband and wife would quarrel often.
Ashok has also alleged how Atul’s mother-in-law Jagir Kaur was constantly harassing the man, while his wife was pestering the man for rupees one and a half lakh, which she wanted to give to her maternal family. Fed of and saddened by this harassment, Atul ended his life by hanging himself from a tree in the fields on the night of May 20.
Based on the statements given by Ashok Kumar, a case has been registered against Sarabjit Kaur and mother-in-law of the deceased, under relevant sections. Wife has been arrested.

In another report from Rajasthan, a migrant labourer in the Sangaria area of Jodhpur died of suicide by throwing himself in front of a train on the railway line passing through the police station area. The incident occurred on late Thursday night after a fight with his wife on that day.
Kudi Bhagatasani Housing Board Police Officer Mukta Pareek said that on Friday, it was reported that a young man had died by jumping in front of a train near KK Colony in the district.
A police team rushed to the spot and identified the deceased as Manoj Kumar (35) son of Motilal, who was living in a rented place at the UP Bhojpur Hall of the area. Initial inquiries with his family members revealed that Manoj had a fight with his wife on Thursday night.

Neighbouring people confirmed that the couple would have constant fights on a daily basis. In fact on Thursday evening after the Manoj and his wife fought, Basni police had reached his place and also spoken to the husband. Post this meeting with the officials, Manoj left his home at night without informing anyone.
His body has been kept at AIIMS Mortuary. His relatives from Uttar Pradesh are expected to reach Jodhpur by Saturday. The body will be handed over to the family then.
